Meet the team, who work with key volunteers across the country to make Alpha accessible to anyone, anywhere, whether that’s in a local pub for a bunch of students or in a warehouse for the whole community.

Dominic Perrem

National Director

Dominic Perrem lives in Dublin with his wife, Annie and his four children, Edmond, Aidan, Lucy and Teddy. He presents for Spirit Radio and works with folks who run Alpha to help them with their long-term vision for building church and community. He loves Alpha and has been involved since his student days.

Dom loves Land Rovers, classic nintendo and being a daddy.

Amanda O'Shea

Alpha Youth National Coordinator

Amanda lives in Dublin with her husband George where they foster two children, Ava and Adam.

She brings over 20 years of experience in youth and family ministry to our Alpha team. At 19 years old she pioneered an urban ministry in Atlanta, GA, USA. Amanda moved to Jackson, Mississippi six years later where she served as a Youth Pastor. In 2007 Amanda moved to Dublin, Ireland to serve as a Youth and Children’s Minister. For the past ten years she has also led teams to run Alpha-Youth in local secondary schools. Amanda holds a degree in Youth, Children and Family Ministry.

Loves books, snow-skiing, hiking and theatre. 

Annette Evans

Alpha Youth Midlands Coordinator

Annette is from Tullamore where she lives with two of her four children, Josh and Sian. Her two older boys Jonathan and Mark have flown the nest.

Annette is actively involved with youth in her parish, leading two weekly youth groups for both primary and secondary school students. Annette has a real heart for young people and through love and mentoring she wishes for them to come to know the Lord in a personal way

Theresa Cronin

Alpha Youth Cork Coordinator

Theresa lives in Cork with her husband Tim and their five children Charlie, Simon, Grace, Barry & Mark.

Theresa has worked as a teacher of History and RE at second level for many years and has been actively involved in running Alpha in her parish for the past 10 years. In 2016 Theresa joined the Alpha Ireland team as the Cork Alpha Youth Regional Coordinator.

She has a heart and passion to see all people, especially young people, come into a living, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. 

She also loves to chat, cook and play lots of tennis!

Deirdre Lightbody

Alpha Youth Cork Coordinator

Deirdre lives in Cork with her husband Gordon and two grown-up children, Miryam and Dominic having moved from Belfast in 1997.  

She worked as a PA in Belfast until she came to Cork and settled down as a stay-at-home mum.  She has been volunteering with Alpha for adults in various settings since 2000 and Alpha Youth since 2016. 

She loves reading, movies, walking, pilates and Strictly Come Dancing's fitness programme.

Tanya Olhausen

Head of Operations

Tanya lives in Killiney with her family. She has been involved with Alpha for over 20 years in Ireland and the UK and has also worked alongside her husband in ministry in that time. She joined the Alpha team in 2017 and takes care of the team and behind the scenes operations without which the team would be lost.

Her heart for Alpha is to see more courses running across Ireland especially in ecumenical settings

Tanya loves a good walk on the beach, cooking and reading.

Shannen Greenhalgh

Alpha Youth Coordinator East Coast 

Shannen lives in Dublin with her family and dog. She has recently graduated with a degree in Social and Community Development and hopes to use this along with her experience and passion to create a space through Alpha for young people to meet with God. Shannen has been involved with many charities and organisations from a young age, values young people and finds it so important to invest in them.

She enjoys walking her dog on Portmarnock beach, visiting Howth (her favourite place), browsing Dublin markets, finding cute spots to eat and loves to travel any chance she can get!
