Meet the team, who work with key volunteers across the country to make Alpha accessible to anyone, anywhere, whether that’s in a local pub for a bunch of students or in a warehouse for the whole community.
Peter Rigney - National Director
Peter lives in Dublin with his wife Karen and children Elijah and Leah. He's very passionate about Christian unity and building up young leaders to take the message of the Gospel to the next generation.
Loves good coffee, music, chats, and rugby.
Amanda O'Shea - Alpha Youth National Coordinator
Amanda lives in Dublin with her husband George and their dog Penny.
She brings over 20 years of experience in youth and family ministry to our Alpha team. At 19 years old she pioneered an urban ministry in Atlanta, GA, USA. Amanda moved to Jackson, Mississippi six years later where she served as a Youth Pastor. In 2007 Amanda moved to Dublin, Ireland to serve as a Youth and Children’s Minister. For the past eight years she also led teams to run Alpha-Youth in a local secondary school.
Loves books, Jane Austin Society of Ireland, snow-skiing, hiking and theatre.
Amanda holds a degree in Youth, Children and Family Ministry.
Annette Evans - Alpha Youth Midlands Coordinator
Annette joined the Alpha Ireland team in January 2014. Prior to that she volunteered for three years with Alpha - Youth in her parish. Annette also runs prayer spaces in conjunction with Alpha - Youth Holy Spirit Days. She is currently studying for a BA in Theology.
Annette is actively involved with youth in her parish, leading a weekly youth group and managing youth worship band.
Theresa Cronin - Alpha Youth Cork Coordinator
Theresa lives in Cork with her husband Tim and their five children Charlie, Simon, Grace, Barry & Mark.
Theresa has worked as a teacher of History and RE at second level for many years and has been actively involved in running Alpha in her parish for the past 10 years. In 2016 Theresa joined the Alpha Ireland team as Alpha-Youth worker for Cork.
She has a heart and passion to see all people, especially young people, come into a living, personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
She also loves to chat, cook and play lots of tennis!
Dominic Perrem - Faith Alive Coordinator
Dominic Perrem lives in Dublin with his wife, Annie and his four children, Edmond, Aidan, Lucy and Teddy. He presents for Spirit Radio and works with folks who run Alpha to help them with their long-term vision for building church and community. He loves Alpha and has been involved since his student days.
Jonny Somerville - Alpha Youth Emeritus
Jonny is married to Susan and they live with their four children Luke, Daniel, Leah and Amy in Dublin.
From 16 Jonny began volunteering to work with young people, mainly through adventure retreats. After Secondary School he did an internship with the Scripture Union’s Youth and School’s team – Authentic Youth.
Jonny went on to obtain a BA in Applied Theology from the University of Wales and started working full time with Scripture Union in 2008.
